The customer

City of Port Adelaide Enfield is located across the inner north and north western suburbs of Adelaide, and is one of the largest metropolitan councils within South Australia.

The opportunity

City of Port Adelaide Enfield invited Enerven Lighting Solutions group to carry out a Council wide road lighting audit of approximately 16,500 luminaires, on a single select tender criteria. The scope consisted of carrying out desktop, and site inspection activities for both P Category and V Category luminaires on all roads.

Deliverables consisted of a detailed report identifying all luminaires, and roads deemed as non-compliant and placed in a priority listing. The scope also included any incorrect asset information found on site to be adjusted on the SAPN GIS data base and a final revised layer to be issued to council on completion. The single select opportunity was received due to the ongoing day to day competitiveness, and reliable relationship the Lighting Solutions team have built over recent years with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

The solution

The primary objective of this project was to confirm to Council that assets listed on the Geographic Information System (GIS) were true, and correct with all adjustments to be updated on GIS immediately. Lighting Solutions had a very tight program for large areas to cover and detailed resource planning was required to ensure they would achieve the program.

This has now provided council confidence in accuracy when they receive their monthly tariff and energy billing invoice. Council is also using the accurate information to build their business case for an LED bulk rollout expected to commence late 2018.
