The customer

ElectraNet delivers safe, affordable and reliable solutions to power South Australian homes and businesses. Their transmission network is a crucial part of the electricity supply chain and is used to safely deliver electricity throughout South Australia including regional and remote areas. ElectraNet specialise in asset and project management, contract management and their clients include SA Power Networks, Enerven and large directly connected clients.

The opportunity 

After the severe storm in September 2016 brought down several transmission towers, ElectraNet had the need to reinforce a number of transmission towers to prevent this from occurring again. 

The solution  

This project involves the construction of a 275kV Transmission line upgrade works, including tower strengthening, cross arm changes, tower waist extensions and mid span poles on a 300km section of transmission line from the Para Substation to the Davenport Substation. The project involved bare hand 275kV live line works, as well as remote work.
